Golden Memories Foundation was born from a simple afternoon and an open heart. When I was 14 years old, my mom brought me to volunteer at Providence ElderHealth, where we were matched with an elderly resident to provide companionship: just showing up, listening, and being present.
What I noticed changed everything. No matter how warm the staff were, so many residents lit up at the smallest gesture of being truly seen. I realized they didn't just need company. They needed to feel special.
I've always loved baking. So I put the two together. What if we showed up not just to visit, but to celebrate? A homemade cake, a song, a moment that says: your life matters and we're here to honor it.
That idea became Golden Memories Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to making sure every elderly person who needs an extra celebration gets exactly that, on their birthday.
Join Our MissionFamily members, caregivers, or care facilities register a senior's name, birthday, and preferences with us.
We pair a trained volunteer with the senior based on location, interests, and availability, building a genuine connection.
Volunteers craft handmade cards, assemble a gift package, and coordinate a visit, all tailored to the senior's personality.
We show up with a cake, a song, stories, and genuine human connection. Every senior deserves to feel remembered.
